STRATFORD, Ont. — Facile Perth is excited to announce plans to update the organization’s branding, including its name and visual identity.

Starting on September 29, 2025, the Stratford-based non-profit organization currently known as Facile Independent Facilitation Perth (Facile Perth) will begin using the name Facile Futures. The intention behind this change is to have a name that more clearly reflects the organization’s mission.

The Facile Futures name was chosen to clearly communicate the organization’s focus on supporting individuals with a disability, and their families, in ways that make their lives easier, as well as the Facile team’s passion for helping those they serve build bright, connected and meaningful futures. “Facile” comes from both the word ‘facilitation’ and the French word facile, meaning ‘to make things easy.’ “Futures” was chosen to reflect the goals of planning and facilitation, which are the cornerstones of the organization’s work.

“Our interest, as an organization, has always been to empower families and people with a disability to take charge of their lives, achieve their goals, and reach their full potential – this won’t change,” says Emily Branje, Executive Director of Facile Perth. “Planning and facilitation is at the core of what Facile does, and it’s an important tool for building a good life – now and in the future, when caregivers are no longer able to provide the same support they once did.”

The organization strives to be a valuable resource for families who want support to navigate services; who seek advocacy support; and who want creative solutions that are less programmatic and that allow their loved one to find their rightful place in the community.

Facile continues to position itself as a valuable resource for people with a disability and their families, especially during this period where the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services is working with partners to implement its long-term vision and plan for change, “Journey to Belonging: Choice and Inclusion.” During this period of change, we are dedicated to ensuring people with a disability, and their families, have creative, informed and experienced facilitators available to them who can offer space for intentional planning and creating a clear vision for what a good life looks like for them.”

“As a family-founded organization, led by a Board that reflects the experiences of people with a disability and also caregivers, we want families to see this organization as a valued resource designed with them in mind,” says Wolfgang Struss, Acting President and Treasurer of Facile Perth. “Facile has a strong team that is able to walk alongside families through the change and transitions that are coming. As planners, our team knows how to plan ahead and be proactive.”

As part of the updated branding, the organization’s name will change from Facile Independent Facilitation Perth/Facile Perth to Facile Futures. The updated name will also be accompanied by a new logo, a new web domain, and visual updates to the organization’s website. These changes were made possible thanks in part to the generous support of Stratford Perth Community Foundation (SPCF) and the $2,000 SPCF 20th Anniversary Grant, which Facile received in November 2024.

Changes will be rolled out at the end of September. As of September 29, 2025, the organization’s website will be moved to facilefutures.ca, and all email addresses for the Facile team will change to match. From this date, all web links and emails directed to the old Facile Perth domain will be automatically redirected for a period of approximately one year.

Leading up to this transition, Facile Perth will share reminders and further updates around the changes to its name and visual identity with its clients and partners via email, as well as through its Facebook Page.
