HURON COUNTY, Ont. — A consortium of organizations is set to host a one-day housing symposium, in Wingham, Ont., entitled ‘Housing For All.’ Housing industry leaders, municipal government representatives, service providers and residents alike are invited to attend this event, taking place on September 24th, 2025.
The Housing For All symposium will be hosted by United Way Perth-Huron and United Housing, Huron-Perth CAS, Facile Independent Facilitation, Kaswentha-Two Row Now, Community Living Central Huron, and the County of Huron. This collection of organizations serving Huron County came together in early 2025 with the goal of planning an event that would spark thoughtful conversations around housing in Huron County. The intention of the event is to create opportunities for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and collective action beyond the event itself.
Housing For All’s morning schedule will feature a number of short, Huron County specific presentations, followed by an engaging panel discussion on innovations within the housing industry, and a keynote address by Jane Williams, Director of the Gattuso Centre for Social Medicine at the University Health Network (UHN). The keynote explores housing as a social determinant of health. This keynote will delve into the ways that the homelessness crisis is, in fact, also a health crisis, and will highlight the pressing need for stable housing solutions that offer integrated healthcare services.
Following lunch, attendees will have the opportunity to choose two of the event’s five consecutive sessions to attend. These sessions will encourage attendees to think creatively about physical environments, affordability, healthy neighbourhoods, welcoming and connected communities, culturally competent housing and the social implications of housing.
The committee of organizing partners strongly values the diverse experiences and expertise that already exists within Huron County and seeks to highlight that knowledge through community-led discussions and networking opportunities.
This in-person event will be held at the Wingham Columbus Centre at 99 Kerr Drive, in Wingham, Ont.
Registration for the event is now free and includes lunch and access to the entire event. To register for the
